Yes — when they're sold properly. UK law (The Motor Vehicle Tyres (Safety) Regulations 1994) requires part-worn tyres to have at least 2mm of tread across their full width and circumference, no cuts, lumps, bulges or exposed cords, to pass an inflation test and to be permanently marked "PART WORN". Every part-worn tyre we sell is inspected inside and out to meet these standards.
For cars, the legal minimum is 1.6mm across the central three-quarters of the tread, around the entire circumference. Driving on illegal tyres can mean a fine of up to £2,500 and 3 penalty points per tyre. Most experts recommend replacing tyres at around 3mm, as wet braking performance drops noticeably below that.
Your tyre size is printed on the sidewall of your tyre and looks something like 205/55 R16 91V. You can often find it inside the driver's door frame or in your handbook too. Not sure? Just send us your registration number and we'll look it up for you.

Often, yes. If the damage is in the central area of the tread and the tyre hasn't been driven on while flat, it can usually be repaired to British Standard BS AU 159. We always inspect the tyre inside and out and give you an honest answer.
